I took my car to Cottman Transmission in Clarksville, TN on July 7, because it would not go in reverse.
The then owner Robert Wentz took my car for a road test and decided that I needed a whole new transmission, he quoted me $1200, with $700/down. I agreed.
3 weeks went by and no work was done on my car, they kept saying they were waiting for parts and/or a mechanic to fix it.
Another 3 weeks went by and Mr. Wentz went missing in action along with my car.
I reported this to the police and they found my car 3 blocks over sitting in a lot.
I reported this to Cottman corporation and Carol Iacullo was no help at all, she knew Mr. Wentz ran off and left the shop with my money and my car. But had no sympathy at all.
A month later October I was informed that a new owner took over this shop and would be willing to apply the $700 I paid to Mr. Wentz to the total cost they would charge me to fix my car ($2400.00) I agreed.
I gave these people (Karen Risacher) another $500.00 and they assured me they would do the needed repairs.
December 15 nothing had been done to my car.
I sued Cottman Transmission, when Karen came to court she told the judge that she sold my car because I abandoned it.
Needless to say I had an abundant amount of proof that that was totally not the case. I won the case.
Now I am trying to collect my money and they refuse to pay.
Please whatever you do, do not do any dealings with Cottman Transmission Shops period. Especially not the shop in Clarksville, TN
