The Fourteenth Avenue petrol station is based in Tauranga New Zealand. It operates as part of Chevron. It also hires out trailers to customers but you have to book ahead and we did just that. When we turned up the next day to use the trailer we found a hand-written note saying they had closed to watch a sports event on television. We couldn’t hire another trailer in time (they had already been booked). We hired another trailer but had to take time off work - all because the service decided to watch television instead of opening during their normal hours.
We complained. We were shuffled about by Chevron. They left the issue with the actual operator. Finally someone (we think) from the actual petrol station sent an email asking for our phone number to discuss things. We said no and preferred to communication via email (because we’re busy). They never really got back to us.
We complained again to Chevron that no one was doing anything. It was explained staff were absent and nothing was followed up.
We’ve basically given up on Chevron. They don’t care and have no real complaints procedure.
The only impressions we are left with is: The Fourteenth Avenue petrol station would rather watch television during working hours. Chevron passes the buck and has no real complaints procedure. Both don’t care about customers.
