I bought a 98 Chevy Astro AWD van from these MotherF*kers in april of this year. It was a very nice van, all power, front and rear heat & air and seperate stereo systems and leather seats.
We did not put even 1500 miles on it and the ENTIRE DRIVETRAIN fell out from underneith the damned thing! First to go was the transmission about 3 weeks after buying it. That cost me $1500 $90 towing. One week later the front axel burn up and compleatly lock up on me going down the interstate. I could not find a front axel for that van ANYWHERE! So I had the same transmission shop that rebuilt the tranny, just cut it out and run off the rear axel only. They charged me $150 $100 towing. 3 DAYS later the right rear tire locked up! I then informed Yates about all of this shit! They offered to reapir the ABS and add it to my balance. They WOULD NOT pay for it themselves. Towing..$80. OK, so they fix it. My wife goes down to pick it up and she did not even make it out of their driveway and the entire rear axel locked up! At first they said that they would replace it and add that to the balance also. I waited a week and could not get answeres over the phone so I go down there and they say "Oh, we found an axel for $900 USED $500 labor to install it and that they would not add that much to the balance of the van. Can you cay BULLSH*T?
I asked them to trade us out of it as they damn well know it is a lemon. They would not do it unless we came up with $2000 more to put down. This van had literally eat up my bank account and I told them I don't have it but they didn't fricken care! I didn't have ANY more money to sink into this lemon. My father in law picked the vehicle up with his trailer and took it to his house and offered to locate and replace the axel and pay for it himself. While he did that, seeing we were completely drained of cash, he took my wife down and payed for a rental car for her for 2 weeks so she could get to work @ $300 pr wk. He found an axel for $200 and replaced it.
Got it back and the A/C went out in it 1 week later. Alternator 1 week after that.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM! It is not worth their so called deals!
I payed $2500 for this van with $1000 cash down. Add the cost up!
