On september 16 i walked into the honda dealer, the sales man "frank" stated that they would pay off my 2002 ford lease, and return the car to the bank. I gave a deposit of $1000
0n Sept. 18 2004 when i came in to pick up the 2004 honda civic, i had a COD of $2100. When i offered "frank" the $2100. He stated " don't worry about it." after i signed the contract and the keys were given to me, i asked about my 2002 ford lease. "frank" stated that the balance remaining was paid for, but i would have to return the car on my own, He also stated that if i wanted to continue to drive for the next few months i could, i would be responsible for the insurance. They also stated that they would send a copy of the bill of sale to my insurance company.
I agreed, because i thought they were being nice about not collecting the $2100 COD. A week later, i realised that i did not have a manual for the car, i called frank and he stated, " to come in and i will just take one from another car When i came into the honda, he went to get the manual, but i waited for one half hour, so i left, and never collect the manual.
Three weeks later, i recieved a call from the dealership finance dept. Who stated that i owe them $2100. And i needed to come in and pay them the money.
I also received a bill from ford for my regular payment. Reviewed my honda contract and realised that the terms we agreed, that they would pay off the ford, were not included, so in fear I paid ford what i owed on the remaing balance.
Then i received another call from Atlantic honda threatening me that they would seek leagal action against me if i did not pay. I informed them that i was told not to pay by "frank" and reminded them that they did not hold their end of the agreement. They stated that they would subtract the amout i paid and i would have to pay $1000.in the intrim, i never received the a registration sticker and the temp has expired. I contacted honda and they told me that it should be coming in the mail any day. It never came. So i contacted the DMV, who stated that the car is still registered in atlantic honda.
I still do not have the registration sticker.
I also never received a payment book or letters from the auto finance bank.
On 12/10/04 i received another call from honda, stating that i needed to come in to sign another contract, because i have a care that i have not made payment for the last two months. I agreed to come in because i too thought it was strange that i had not received a payment book. I informed him of the situation of the ford lease return and the COD, and he stated forget about the ford because "that does not matter" however, expected the terms of the sale to be the same.
In addition, my insurance company informed me today 12/11/04, that they still have not received my bill of sale and stated that i needed to have a photo inspection on the honda.
This is a mess.
