Tire replacement

On febraury 14th I scheduled an appointment online to have my two front tires replaced at store #568 in Weymouth, MA. Upon my arrival I met with Morris the assistant Manager. He said its no problem to replace the two front. My 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee was placed on the lift and inspected. I was then informed that the tires I had ordered on line were not in stock. I was also told that my two rear tires were in need of replacement because the "four Wheel" alignment was out of whack. My husband inspected the rear tires and said they were fine and had good tread before I made my appointment. Morris stated if I bought all four tires (of a different more expensive brand) he would give me one free in order to make the deal. While performing the "four wheel" alignment the mechanci said he couldnt proceed without replacing "tie Rods"; since my jeep was already on lift, I called my husband to get the ok. My husband was justly agitated at this point and mentioned this situation seems like a classic "bait and switch" but he agreed since the vehicle was already on the lift. I went to NTB planning on spending $250 to $300.00 at most for two tires. I left having spent $754.30.

I contacted my mechanic a day later. My mechanic informs me that a "four Wheel" alignment is impossible to do on a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee without taking the whole rear axle apart.in onther words the Jeep doesnt have independent suspension in the rear. The information I received and relied upon from NTB's agents was false and I was conned into buying 4 tires, when in fact I only needed two. Since I was lied to on the Four Wheel algnment issue I beleive I was lied to on the tie rod issue as well. My mechanic will be inspecting the "new tie rods". Upon learning this information on the "four wheel" alignement, my husband called Morris at NTB and complained. My husband asked Morris straight out before lodging a complaint - "Did you guys perform a four wheel alignement?" Morris' response was "YES" at that point my husband complained and Morris finally recanted and admitted a four wheel alignment wasnt performed. My husband then stated since it was the four Wheel alignmenmt issue that brought into question the two rear tires, then the two rear tires didnt need replacing. Morris tried explaining to my husband "the rear tires were once on the front" My husband asked how he knew this, Morris said he didnt know he assumed. My husband explained that the rear tires were never on the front. This is negligible anyway since Morris at first said it was the Four Wheel Alignment that caused me to need two rear tires. I tell you this to show you how Morris' story changed once he was caught on the lie about performing a "Four Wheel" Alignment.

I will be on every social network including Facebook, twitter, and any blog I can find showcasing this complaint and its follow thru by NTB.in this day and age of the internet you would think a business would be more honest and forthright.

I would like reimbursement for two tires purchased from NTB, 156.99 x 2 = $313.98, since I did not need them. I will pay for the two I went into buy in the first place albeit a more expensive brand. Also I will pay for the tie rods, unless my mechanic says they were not replaced or replaced improperly.

To be fair, after my husband complained to Morris about the falsehood of the "Four Wheel" Alignment, Morris did credit us by refunding our money spent on the alignment, we have yet to see that credit on our card though.
