I called National Part to puchase an engine for my car. Rick answered and helped me find one with 47,000 miles for $1250. When receiving the engine it had a tag on it, listing what it came out of. Taking the vin off the tag i ran a carfax. When reading the car fax i found out the car had 87,000 miles on it two years ago, before being registered as a commercial vehicle.
I called rick back and told him what was going on, he called the vender back and checked with them. He called me back insisting the engine was good, but i was not giving $1250 for the engine. He made a deal for selling me the engine for $750. I took it.
When starting on the engine, i removed the oil pan and found 4 to 5 inches of slug and leaves from a tree. I called him back and told him that i do not want the engine and did not want anyother from him. He said ok and that he would refund the other $750.
After waiting 2 weeks for the engine to be picked up, I was ready for the refund. He refunded $550 dollars, and said i was responsible for the $200 for the shipping of the bad engine because i would not take the chance on another.
