I rented a car from Morristown, NJ Enterprise on 9/17. I returned the car a few days later, with no damage to it. 3 1/2 weeks later I receive a call from Brady in the Morristown, NJ office that there were damages to the car totaling $435 and how would I like to pay.
I was incredulous to receive a call as it was returned with no damages. If I had a call within the next day or two, that would be one thing, but to hear 3 - 4 weeks later shocked me. I quickly disputed the claim to which he responded "okay" and then hung up the phone.
An additional month later, I receive a letter from Tiffany Hobty (Sp?) from the Damage Recovery Unit at 352-313-4788 that said upon further research, I still owed the additional money. The letter was sent to an old address of mine. I composed a reply the next day stating, more or less, that "receiving the initial assessment of damamges almost a month after they allegedly occurred was impressimble..."
In the interim, I missed two phone calls, with subsequent voicemails from Tiffany. Both times, I called her back instantly to discuss - but both calls went straight to her voicemail. I left a message with my claim #, politely stating that I would like to discuss. I didn't receive a call back either time.
Yesterday, I received a letter in the mail (once again to the old address), stating that I still owe the funds and if I don't pay within the next 10 days from day the letter was sent (January 3) then it will be sent to a Collections Agency and I will be responsible for attorney fees. I tried calling Tiffany again this morning to discuss, and again I received her voicemail.
As a last resort, I spoke with a friend who told me he was fired from Enterprise for using nefarious tactics that he was encouraged to deploy by his superiors. Upon researching this issue this morning, it sounds like many other people are being scammed by Enterprise. I would be happy to constructively discuss my report / claim with anyone who would be willing to.
