I had never been to an IHOP before and my boyfriend and I were on our way back from vacation and stopped in East Greenbush, NY. It wasn't that close to the highway and smelled like burning food in the parking lot. We waited a few minutes to be seated although it wasn't busy at all and ordered a coffee and soda. The drinks did come promptly and we ordered our food, A BLT Deluxe with a salad, and 2 eggs, bacon, toast, and a hash brown. We waited close to 30 minutes with no food, not even my salad. No one had ever come back to our table either. So we decided to leave. I only had only taken a couple of sips of soda so I thought it would fair to pay for the coffee. The server charged us $5.27 for a coffee and soda, really??? She could see my glass that I didn't even drink the soda. Not even an offer to comp us for the ridiculous wait. This may have ever been my only visit to an IHOP.
