I visited the SPOLETO in Northampton yesterday (8/6).
The total bill was $52.85.
After adding $30 in cash I asked the waiter to process another $30 from my debit card.
Today I checked my banking statement online and found that Spoleto processed
$30 plus
$52.85
From my account. Both amounts are currently "processing" and will be deducted (according to BoA) once completed.
I called Shelly immediately and discussed this with her. I was told that even though she finds my bill of $30, she can not find the $52.85 charge and that she will not be able to help me until some time next week when she spoke to the "IT guys".
I called my bank (BoA) attempting to put a hold on the processing payment. Unfortunately BoA -even though confirmed the two amounts pending - is unable to stop the process and offered me to put in a claim AFTER the money has been deducted - in case Spoleto is unable to reverse the charge before that.
I called Spoleto again and spoke to "Kelly" who was unable to help me.
I went to Spoleto today shortly after 5:00PM to discuss with Shelly the reversal of the incorrect, duplicate amount. Shelly stated again that she is unable to do "anything" until some time next week - by then the money will be deducted from my bank account.
