My spouse and I went to the Allenton Inn this week to celebrate our anniversary. The last time we went there was about four years ago. We had wonderful memories of their food and service, and we were excited about having a great meal.
What a disappointment! We paid over $30.00 for two dinners that were probably not worth five bucks combined. I think we could have had better meals at a truck stop.
The waitress was not very professional at all. At one point an elderly lady walked up to our table and grabbed my glass of water - I thought she was a customer! - it turns out she was refilling water glasses. Later, and elderly gentleman walked up and started clearing our plates. It was all rather odd and we were somewhat uncomfortable.
We should have known something was wrong when we walked in the door. There were only about four tables with customers seated, and this was at 5:00 pm on what should have been a busy night.
We cannot recommend the Allenton Inn to anyone - it's overpriced and under served.
