Lousy food then offer to refund purchase price but never do

Ate here on "Black Friday". When burger was delivered it was burnt (almost jerky) and the size of a silver dollar. It was obviously WELL done when I wanted medium well. When I protest to the counter girl she told me "it's what you ordered"!! I insisted it was NOT and I didn't want to pay $9.00 for something one step away from cremation. Other customers had what looked like real hamburgers (the size of the bun) and were laughing at the dough drop I got.

I asked to speak to the manager, the girl told some young guy I wanted to see him, he never came to the counter. After waiting several minutes I asked again and was told he was too busy.

Ended up tossing the whole meal (which included 8 yes 8 french fries. I had plenty of time to count while I waited at the counter.
Sent email to customer service was told

Mr. C,
I'm very disappointed to hear of the experience you had at our Fredricksburg location. We are taking the following action to ensure that your experience is not repeated.

Your message and request for a refund has been received and directed to the Director of Operations and Vice President of Operations over the Fredricksburg Fuddruckers location you visited.

Please do not hesitate to contact us at guest services if you do not receive a response within 72 hours.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we can improve our operations as we strive toward making Fuddruckers a world class brand.

Second letter from manager:

First off, I would like to apologize for your experience recently at our Fuddruckers located in Central Park. I would have contacted you personally earlier, but I have been out of town for the past week. I understand Patrick already spoke with regarding the visit, as well offering a refund. I would also like to send you a complimentarty letter for your next visit in to show you what we are really made of. We take great pride in cooking the worlds greatest hamburger, and need to prove that to you as we certainly did not on your previous visit.
As far as your refund, unfortunately we do not have the ability to write a check or send cash in the mail. I could easily refund the money to a gift card which you could use at any Fuddruckers, but I want to make sure this an acceptable substitute for you. I tried both your day and evening numbers, but only got your work message and wanted to respond back to you before Monday.

Please feel free to e-mail or call 540-785-7280 to let me know what works best for you. Again, I apologize for the service for you recently received as it sounds like we missed many opportunities to fix you issues.

Missed opportunities? Why did 'I' have to go out of MY way to get satisfaction?

Gift card?
Sure, I will go in there and say "hey I'm the guy who complained." Is that when the manager spits in my food?

Bottom line stay away. Everything sucks here if you have a bad experience they won't even spend 37 cents to satisfy you. Never mind writing a check.
