Homeland Financial
Ripoff, lied about services, took money, wouldnt return phone calls, Sana Ana

Oh no no Cheryl, Brian in 100% correct. You are a lier. I signed up with Homeland financial last year after losing my JOB.

I was told that Homeland had attorney that were on staff and that would be available if the need arise. I was even told they would help repair my credit after I completed the program.

I was also told that my creditors would be contacted monthly in order for everyone to stay in contact regarding the situation. They even preach this on their recording while you are on hold. They told me all kind of lies just to get me to sign up.

None of it happens. I've asked for documentation of follow up calls to creditors and they are unable to provide that information to me, why... Because they lie and they don't do it! I was told to completely stop paying all creditors and refer all calls to them (Homeland).
I was told the fee would be $3000. Which I could make payments on at $700. Per month for about 4 months - I couldn't pay my bills, but they talked me into paying them $700. A month, after the four months, they starting taking out an additional $300. Each month, when I called they informed me that the fee was actually $6000. And I had another 12 months I owed on. NO REFUNDS!

So, here is another lie. Oh they will try and make you believe that I had a contract, etc... But in fact, they were dishonest and sneaky. I did have a "contract" but it sure didnt say the fee would be $6000.

After being into this for about a couple months, I started getting 30 day notices from credit companies, atty. Homeland did nothing but send me a pile of paperwork to do and send in myself. Creditors still calling me - Homeland does nothing about it! My credit cards are piling up in interest and late charges, so I call homeland. They state not to worry - when they negotiate, they don't include attorney fees, interest or late charges, so these fee's just continued to accumulate to outrageous amounts.

I had one particular card that I owed about $9000.00 on, the credit card company personally called me and asked if I would settle for $5000.00, I called homeland they advised me not to settle, and not to talk to these creditors -so I didn't. Well, its been a year now, I still paying homeland $300.00 a month which leave me with very little extra to save and that $9000. Credit card - well, its up to $17,000. And Homeland states that this particular attorney that is handling this credit card is really hard to get along with and that I need to probably make arrangements to repay them in a 5 year term - AT THE FULL AMOUNT OF $17,0000 because Homeland was "unable" to negotiate with them.

This is almost double what I originally owed. What happened to not paying late fees or attorney costs? I could have settled on my own months ago for $5000. I recently got a court notice that I was to appear in court next month. After calling homeland, I found out that they really don't care. There is no attorney on staff that will help me, and actually - they themselves wont even call the creditor to see what we can do to avoid court. Another lie.

I have had creditors call my family, and my neighbors. Homeland did nothing to stop this from happening or help me reach a reasonable settlement. I have no choice but to file bankruptcy which I was hoping to avoid. So thank you to Claudia at Ability financial who originally got me involved with homeland and a special thank you to homeland for all your hard work - YOU STINK! Your representatives need to learn the job, every month I call, I get a different story! No one knows what the heck they are doing and no one ever calls me back. When I signed up they had attorney on staff, negotiated for you so you could settle for 1/2 your debt, contacted your creditors on a "regular" bases etc... All a BIG FAT LIE!

I'm out $6000.00 to fees I paid to Homeland, for nothing! Please do not trust this company! I even had a bank willing to give me a loan to pay off these negotiations at 50-60% and when the bank called homeland to get something in writing, just a ball park figure, Homeland wouldn't cooperate with them! Homeland then called me and told me they would drop me from the program if I proceeded with the loan!!! Stated they were trying to help me get out of debt - How is that when I have to borrow from my family (that's a loan) just to pay your fee, you IDIOTS!
