I Recieved a call on my cell phone one day. I answered to a man who was representing "central support and systems" (central supply and savings according to the file located at www.bbb.com.)
He stated that my information had been forwarded due to my denial to a recent credit card i had applied for, which made sense. I asked exactly which bank, but of course, he didnt have that information, "we work for many lenders sir". He quickly started with all the great benefits to the Visa OR Mastercard (my choice) low interest, no monthly fees, etc. It sounded GREAT! I had finally caught my break with credit, to good to be true huh? YES! I took out a payday loan to pay the 299 "processing Fee" (which could only be payed with a checking account according to him) with anticipation of my shiny new Visa, and all the other great beneftits to come within 7-10 days as a "package" (not a credit card, but package)
"Just take out a cash advance when you get the card and pay your self back" he said. I felt justified. A few days pass, and i begin to think back on all the "weird" thigns about this offer. The "customer Service" number that basically hangs up on you, then, when you finally get to speak to an atuall person, they are of no help, (they even had my name spelt wrong in the computer system)
In any event, one night at home, i came across this site, and saw all of the MANY reports on other fraud cases concering phone and credit cards. ALL of the warning signs i read sent chills down my back, as i soon realized they were identical to those of the offer i had just set myself up on.
I contacted the company the next day, and when i FINALLY got thro, the person (who sounded like he just came off the streets) knew NOTHING of a credit card. Apparantly the computer showed me recieving coupons, vouchers, a great deal on computers, "merchant" card, etc. OHH DONT FORGET, my "credit card applications" for a few banks. Those of which i could have easily gotten myself. He suggested i turn the applications in, and it would then be up to the bank to isssue credit. Which, if it were THAT easy, i wouldnt have been so opt. To pay 300 bucks for a card right? Exactly.
I then became very angry realising that all the reports on this site were true in my case as well, and that the BBB showed this firms file being opened in Sept. 04.. I was one of the new victims. THIS MUST STOP!
My bank cooperated in returning my funds, and are currently helping me to locate these cold hearted ppl stealing peoples hard earned money. I plan to take full legal action in this matter, hoping i can hit them, EXACTLY, where they tried to hit me. Fraud is illegal and wrong, and hey, i say, "If you cant do the time, dont do the crime"
