I'm adding on to my prior review of Sallie Mae. Once again, I will compare to my private loan. Private loan holder awards 15 days from the day the payment is due to get your payment in; after those 15 days, your payment is considered "late" and you will owe more money. Sallie Mae - as we all know - loves to have everything due on the 1st of the month. They gave me three days - THREE - before saying my payment was "late." They clearly didn't consider that they payment was due on a holiday, and the Postal Service would be a little busy still handling holiday mail. Three days?! Three?! Seriously Sallie Mae.
