Who has control over Sallie mae and how their institution is run? Sallie mae refuses to extend the term of my loan, their site states that their private loan term can go up to 15 yrs but yet they refuse to have my student loan term go past 5yrs, i cannot afford to pay the current payment at 5 yrs, all i am requesting is that they extend the loanto 10 or 15yrs.
