On September 14, I received an e-mail to apply for a VIP Visa. I went to the website and started to fill out the forms, but I never submitted them. On September 18, I used my debit card and discovered money was missing from my account. I immediately called the bank's 800 number. They informed me that $159.00 had been debited from my account on 9/15/04 and gave me the 800 number of the company who did it.
I called the 800 number several times that day, but all I could reach was a recording which said, "You have reached the Icard services voice mail. If you wish to speak to a live specialist, please call back and dial 1. You can also chat with a specialist via out instant message system at www.icardservices.com. Please note we are closed July 4 and July 5 in observance of Independence Day." After a pause, it said, "If you'd like to speak to an operator press 0.", which I did.
There was ringing on the line, but it just went back to the original recording. I didn't have access to a computer that day so I went to the website the next day and tried to instant message them several times. They never replied. I also sent an e-mail through their website, but again, no reply. I also continued to call the 800 number off and on all day. I also sent an e-mail directly from my own e-mail account instead of their website, but it was returned.
On Monday, I went to my bank and was told the problem was between me and the company. I insisted on filing a fraud report. After I gave them the report, they still said it was my problem.
Tonight, 9/20/04, I again called the 800 number several times. On my 5th or 6th call, when I pressed 0, I got a recording with their customer service hours.
