As a few complaintant have already found out, Citibank passed my information on to a so called affliate company Essentials Gold without my or my wife's consent. They then proceeded to charge us $130 annual subscription fee... And apparently sent shopping discount information to our address (an address which was over 3 years old). When I called Essentials Gold to complain, I was suprised to hear the first option on their automated system was to inquire about unknown charges on a credit card. Seemed to me they must have had a lot of calls on this subject.
Once I got through to a customer service person, they actually dealt with my compliant quite well... We'll see whether they followed through with their promise to refund my card. I also contacted CitiBank and told them to remove our information from any lists that are distributed to their affiliates. I'll definitely be cancelling that credit card asap. Last straw for a very expensive credit card.
