T colonial home warranty - Colonial Home Warranty

Avoid this company... On 30 April we opened a claim with Colonial Home Warranty (Claim #2144313) when our washing machine, which is located on the second floor of our home, began to leak through the ceiling. The job was assigned to multiple repair shops that either would not respond or would not return our calls. This continued for about three weeks. On approximately 21 May I called to complain about the amount of time it was taking and the responsiveness of the companies being assigned. I also asked to speak with a supervisor and was told one wasn't available and that there is more than a 30 minute wait when I said I'd hold. The job was reasigned another two times to companies that would not respond. My wife contacted the Colonial Claims Center on approximately 22 May and spoke with a man (Mr. Grant) who claimed to be a supervisor. She was told they were having difficulty locating a company that would service us and that we could contact a local repair company ourselves and would be reimbursed for the service fee for a repair estimate. Per Mr. Grant's direction we then contacted AA Dependable Appliance Repair who provided an estimate of $670.78 for the repair, and was charged $ 74.50 for the visit on 24 May. My wife contacted the claims center on 31 May and spoke with Mr. Grant again to check the status and was told our washer isn't covered because an unrelated part of it is still under warranty. Whirlpool provides a lifetime warranty on the stainless steel wash basket only and Mr. Grant is using that as justification for exluding the entire claim even though the needed repairs do not involve the wash basket. When hearing this I contacted Mr. Grant and he confirmed their refusal to pay any part of our claim or service fee because an uninvolved part of the machine remains under warranty. I explained to him that this was dishonest as most appliances would fall into this category and asked to speak with his supervisor and was told to write a letter to their corporatate office. To date they still refuse to do the right thing.
