Fraudulent I cancelled Aug 2nd. They lied, said I called to continue and have a "recording" which they will not share to back them up obviously not possible since

I signed up in June for a free month (which required a credit card number). At the end of the month I called to cancel before charges would begin, but the representative told me that my free month was not finished and that I should call back in a few days. So I did call back, on Aug 2nd, to once and for all cancel service. (I've kept notes on my banking papers about all these calls.) However, on the 9th a charge appeared on the bank statement anyway. I just received the statement today, then called CIC.

The CIC rep. Said that, not only did I call them on the Aug 2nd but that I had specifically requested at the time that they continue with full service! What? Why would I do that when it would continue anyway unless I cancelled it? No no, I had called quite specifically to CANCEL and even kept notes of the event. CIC said they had "a recording" of me saying that I wanted to continue. What? By now my I KNEW the representative had to be lying knowingly because, well, *I* was there when *I* called to cancel. Any possible "recording" simply cannot exist (or worse, would be fraudulent.) I demanded many times to hear the supposed "recording" but the rep simply would not respond to my request.

The supervisor would not take my call. On a second call to CIC, another representative said that in order for CIC to even consider cancelling the charge for the month of August, or for them to even say whether or not they might ever reveal the supposed "recording" of me, I would have to fax my driver's licence along with a report to another department (the name of the department or their voice phone number the representative would not divulge).

You get the picture. This company is very, very, very bad news and causing me a lot of trouble. I'm now finding many complaints on the internet (I wish I had known), and I am of course wary of faxing my driver's license to CIC. Help!!
