When Financial called me, they were VERY aggressive on the phone when they told me I was approved for a new Visa credit Card. They told me it had a credit limit of 2,000 and would increase to 5,000 after one year. I was a little thrown by the call and I asked what company they were with. The telemarketer kept redircting me and told me he would give me all the info if he could just finish. He proceeded to start asking me for my personal information and I kept asking him questions.
I told them I didn't feel comfortable giving out this information. I repeated my need for the name of his company and a phone number. Once again I was redirected to give my information and the company info would be gave at the end of the conversation. The guy eventually gave me the phone number and while I was delaying him on my info, I used my cell to call the number to confirm it was a business. After confirming the company was valid, I gave the info and made it VERY CLEAR I didn't feel comfortable giving this info. I was in need of building more credit history without high finance charges and felt it was worth the chance.
However I did keep a watch on my bank account and I also informed my bank there could be suspicious activity to be aware of. Guardian Financial was VERY adamit at the fact I couldn't pay my initial costs on another credit card. They said I HAD to use my Checking account and if there wasn't enough money in the account at time of withdrawal, I would lose any chance of obtaining this credit card. So I transfered funds to this account to ensure payment and I waited for the Supposably RUSH MAILING after withdrawal confirmation. I called back 2 weeks later to talk to a customer service rep and was placed on hold for a long time.
When I spoke to a Sheena Parker, she told me she couldn't find my info and when she did finally retrieve it, she told me it would be 25 days before the card would arrive. I told her that was not what I agreed to and asked to speak to a supervisor. Sheena told me she couldn't get me a supervisor because she was busy. I told her I would HOLD! She told me she couldnt put me on hold... Which I found to be hilarious since she had done so at the beginning of our conversation. I asked for the supervisors name and she told me MANDY CARR, and she could only be reached if she called me back. Funny how someone can only be reached if they call you... Which of course NEVER HAPPENED
After researching the company further, my suspicons about the company were true. They are a fraud and do all you can to protect your hard earned dollars!!!
