In October I had not used my AT&T Universal Card for several months and had a credit balance. When I called to request a refund check the telephone representative offered to sign my card up for a rebate program-5% cash back on gasoline, supermarket and pharmacy purchases and 1% on all other charges.
I immediately started using the card again in October and in February my card was was issued a $100.00 credit. The billing statement said "Congrats-Cash Back Rebate". I realized in August I had not received any rebate credit since the one in February. I called the company and was told my card "WAS NOT SIGNED UP ON ANY REBATE PROGRAM". I offered to send them a copy
of the February statement with the $100.00-"Congrats-Cash Back Rebate" but was told it would make no difference, that according to their records I was not on any rebate program and would not receive any more cash-back credit. Has this happened to anyone else? I suggest saving all solicitation materials and tell the credit card company you are taping all telephone conversations with Universal Card representatives. DON'T TRUST THEM TO HONOR
THEIR AGREEMENT!!!
Universal Card in March to ask why only $100.00 credit and was told the computer automatically issues the credit when $100.00 in rebates have accumulated. I continued using the card and in August realized I had not received any rebate credit since the $100.00 rebate in February. I called AT&T Universal card in August and was told my card "WAS NOT ON A REBATE PROGRAM!!!
They offered to enroll me
My card was credited $100.00
my account—stating "Congrats-Cash Back Rebate
