In 2010 I was unemployed because the company I worked for sold to an overseas firm. I was making payments as needed. Minimum payments.
By September I was falling behind. Citibank sent a letter giving me options, and when I called them in response, I took a limited payment plan. That was auto-withdrawn from my checking account. This was supposed to be for one year. The payments were supposed to be taken out on the 6th of the month. The first month's payment was taken out on the first. This should have given me warning that they had made a mistake.
The 12th payment was supposed to be in August 2011. Citibank failed to take the amount out of my account. They took the 11th payment and demanded another payment the following day that was about twice what I agreed to pay. Naturally I refused. I explained the issue to multiple "customer service" reps who called, explaining that it was the bank's mistake and that I would not pay the amount they ordered me to. Nor would I pay the "late fee" attached, because it was not late.
Now it is December, and Citibank, a bank of thieves, calls my house 5 times a day and my cell phone (which I did not give them permission to call) 5 times a day. They also send me the occasional text message (again without permission).
I am totally sick of the nonsense with Citi.
