I filled a short term disability claim as my PCP put me on medical leave for one month.
I has been under treatement for depression before that and my health got worse
By mistake I checked the box work related on the form The Standard sent me but explained to my claim adjuster many times by phone
Although I mentioned that I did not realise the difference between worker compensaton and short term disability untill I asked a lawyer (who told me that I do not have a work com case) and make that mistake still I mentinoed on the form that I did not applied or want to apply for worker com on the form, also my doctor said is not work related and that he did not fill a case for worker comp
I called many times the adjuster but wanted to use that pretext to deny my claim or suspend it
Asked me to signed a form for returning any money from work comp or SSI and signed it and fax it back.
Three days after I faxed it back and she says she could not see the fax into the system.
Called fax department they told me that it will be uploaded that she can see it but next day she claims is not there
Called that departement again and they said not to call them anymore or that the adjuster will call me back when my need was clear to confirm me that the fax was sent to the adjuster
Suggested me that she has it but needs more time
Thre weeks after I applied and no money received
Was treated fro depression before in 2008
They want to delay it or deny it becauser I filled that is work related although I sent my explanation that I did that by mistake beeing under depression and low energy, focus and not knwoing that lawyers considers not to be work comp
Three weeks in which instead of having peace of mind I am under stress because of my financial situation
