I bought a 04 jeep through a local used car lot for the first time in July. I paid double payments 3 mths in a row and partial paymments on top of full afterwards. I had a late payment cause I sent out on Tuesday through my auto pay service it usually took two days cause of holiday (thanksgiving) it was one day late again on Christmas.in early jan I was laid off and I called them to make arrangements only to be asked if I can keep my payments on or before the 1st I told them I wasn't late it was the holidays... I told them I would try by the 2nd week of feb to get them a payment which I did. I went from 53k yearly to 33k so catch up was on full swing they told me about the auto pay by weekly and never had a late payment again.
In June of 11 I was let go cause lay offs and I wasn't a senior empl I had notice so I called credit acceptance and told them I was wanting to see if I can trade it in on another vehical of lesser value they said go to a perticapating dealer and they would do the rest none of them would work with me cause they said cred accept wouldn't approve it. So I called them again and told them I don't use jeep it sat in my driveway for 8 mths cause I am a truck driver. I told them that I couldn't see paying for it if they couldn't let me get something that my fianc could drive. It was a 5 speed manual. They said go to dealer I told them that they were denying me a loan. They said we can't fix that, I told them you told me you would they said well its not an option for everyone. I told them I would let them come get it and I would pay final payment which I did. They came I drove it up on roll back.
They called me a week later telling me I could have it back for 1500.00 I asked why they said tow bill. It went a total of 26 miles that isn't fair they tried for 2 weeks telling me that it was going to auction on the following Monday I just got a severance package to pay it off they said ok I told them bank said Monday morning hold it for me I'll get it. They sold jeep before payment cleared at 10am 2 weeks later they called and said I owed them 5685 on jeep... Mind you it was sold to me for 9900 interest with a trade in of 2500 I owed 7600 they said it sold (1700.00) at auction with all options renegade package and ran perfect and had 120,000 when I told them that wasn't even possible they said they would settle for 1700 payoff right then. I told them I could work something out with them they put on my credit charge out and they have a phone system that recognizes your number when I call it, it says please contact another number for attorney. What is left to do??
