Our home goes up for sale this week because the very people who said they could help me keep my home have taken everything from my family. We had been working through a loan modification with our bank (Wachovia/Wells Fargo) when after 7 months they denied the modification. We were almost $40,000 behind in our mortgage and i didnt know what else to do so i started to research loan mod companies. I went on the AG site to learn what to check for on loan modification fraud, compared several mailers i had received and started making phone calls.
I chose United Services Group. My story is very similar to Ron B in the case of them being very reassuring, they had direct communication with my lender and i had signed several doucments that appeared to be legitimate. After not hearing from them in a couple of weeks i made several frantic phone calls to the two people i had dealt with most - Anthony Flores and McKenzie Phillips (Is that Michelle Phillips?) Neither returned my calls. Then i received a phone call from Greg Paramore and he told me the same thing. Our loan modification was being given to Advanced Loan Processing due to the high volume of accounts USG had going. Upset and crying i begged him not to send our loan and just send my money back. I expressed how difficult this process had been and i was now going through a divorce because of this whole thing and i needed the money. He said we would be contacted in 5-7 days.
I was contacted by Devon Clark (i now wonder if that is Devon Pendergraff) and she asked for an additional third party authorization. I sent an email asking for clarification of who they were before i continued. I called a couple of times and finally got someone else on the phone (her name i missed) again, crying and distraught she told me how great they were and how they were going to save my home because even though i couldn't be in the home with my family due to the divorce, they would be taken care of. I said before i signed the authorization i would need something in writing from them and she assured me she would send a packet to us immediately. Immediately NEVER happened.
I will also file a report with the AG, but it will go nowhere. I'm not even sure why i am doing this, since no one will help and as a "barely functioning" adult due to the divorce, the stress and financial ruin this has caused me i certainly hope i can maintain my sanity long enough to get through this. How can people be so uncaring and downright criminal with no ability to be held accountable. Cant someone do something? I haven't stopped yet
