Complaint / Review
HFL, Inc
No base pay, no breaks, and standing for hours

Not too much to complain about this business.in general the people are nice, but you go through 2 interviews. One interview to see if they like you, where you worked before, and what you know; the other interview to see if they think you are capable of making direct TV sales where you shadow someone for a day.in the hiring packet you learn a lot about the law of averages; you learn how to sell. Odd it says they think dreadlocks are unprofessional in the hiring packet, but there are a good number of people with dreadlocks working there. You see people of all walks of life, classes, races, socioeconomic statuses working there, which is good. There is no base pay which is a complaint I have (all you earn is based on sales); you also have to drive really far to go to the Walmart to make the sales which is another complaint I have. You may not make a sale every day (if you don't make sales they will fire you), and you also deal with people who reject you and turn you down frequently which can be really discouraging for sales. People are constantly being interviewed and hired there, doesn't seem like many people stay long here to work (like there is a high turn over rate of people working and either quitting or getting fired). You have to do a lot of memorization of the different sales terminology and the direct TV sales packages. You have to get your approach down pack to what you are going to say to the people, find a way to speak and relate to them to get them into the computer to make the sale. If you like sales and the unpredictability of it, this would be a good job for you. If you don't like sales, and the fact you may not sell some days or some weeks especially in this bad economic situation don't take this job. Lastly, the last complaint I have is you are standing from 12:30-7:30 pm talking to people, you have to wear some nice, good, comfortable shoes, because you don't get a break, unless you have to go to the bathroom, and they don't let you sit down, because you are on the go meeting people, engaging people, and making sales. The people who work here are great, kind hearted, and willing to help you learn, but when you get this job it's like going to school again with all the memorization, math, calculations, and vocabulary. You have to think would you rather a job that you know how much you earn, or a job where you don't know if you will make a sale or not. Sales are stressful. Also you have to have a car while working here. You have to have up to date car insurance too. These are just things you should know before you work here. Might save you time as you look for other jobs or are going on interviews.
