Mark Sharp called and offered a 3%refinace under the new government housing plan. He said it was free to see if I qualified. He then had a hardship analyst take a verbal short form application.
Mark Sharp called the next day and said i was approved and congratulated me. His assistant then sent me some forms to fill out and return back to him via email.
One form was a retainer and another an authorization to speak to my mortgage company. A third form was a payment authorization form for their fee. Mark said that once he got the fee he would have us fill out more forms and gt some documentation together so his legal department could start negotiations with our current mortgage company.
I got suspicious when he did not return my calls to anwser questions after I had sent the authorizations to him.
I imediately insured there was zero money in the account I authorized him to transfer the money from. Their phone system was hoakey and he contradicted himself a time or two.
I admit I wanted this to be real so I was easy to manipulate. I know the government was trying to help folks so i thought i got lucky. One ofmy friends got a principle reduction and a rate reduction so i thought i was lucky to be approved. Now i have to clean up the mess as they got my ss#'s and my bank account and routing numbers. I'll be busy tommorow
