An agreement was made on Jan. 12 2004 between myself Eugene Bowser and Christian Debt Management (Debt Relivers, INC.) To make monthly payments to DRI on outstanding finacial obligations. Which DRI would pay monthly, to help reduce debt owed to credit card
companies.
My representative and I agreed on 5 credit companies to work on paying off in 5 years. And he made it sound so great that I would be finally debt free of these bills.
The first payment to Debt Relievers INC. Or (dri). Was the sum of $491.00. That payment would not be applied to paying off any credit bills included in the agreement. My representative (which I found out quit working for DRI}, said that the money would be paid out on any outstanding ending amounts due to creditors.
But the contract states on page 2 of services provided DRI shall have earned a fee from client in an amount equal to amount of first month's payment.
Another words the representative will not tell you they charge a fee. They give you a fake answer right off the bat. Where the first check is credited. And if you will ever get it back? They say thay are a non-profit orginization over the phone, when you to sign the faxed agreemnet of a contract at the beginning of sevices provided by DRI. My pay check goes into my wifes checking account. She agreed to pay the due amount to DRI.
I returned by fax all paper work signed. My wife set-up to have payments taken out of her checking acount at the Montgomery County Credit Union Dayton Oh. Monthly. On the 6th of each month.in the contract with DRI.
DRI failed to with draw the correct amount out on March 6th. They finally with drew the $499.00 very late, 3-24-04. After we got numerous calls from creditors, included in the agreement. Telling us thay have not received any payment from DRI. Yes DRI said they needed
more money to cover the payments.in the mean time Citi card dropped their agreement. Because they had not received any money.
Also DRI never did pay Sears $119.00 that was agreed on in the contract. DRI e-mailed me and gave me dates & check #'s that they used to pay Sears. But no payment at all has been paid to Sears. I set up payment with them to keep the bill collectors from calling me.
So in turn, I have stopped paying DRI. And set up payments to all account's that I was told that would be paid bye DRI. I would like my $491.00 returned & $119.00 that I trusted DRI would pay each month. DRI has set me back farther in debt with Sears and Citi card. I never had this much problem paying my bills and becoming so late in my life. Citi card also stopped my wife from using her credit card for 6 months which is owned by Citi card. She is very disturbed by this whole mess with DRI.
DRI was charging me $52.00 a month to pay these accounts.
They really messed my credit report up worse than it was when I started with their so called Christian Debt Managment Company.
