I joined the program in September. Since then, I still have one creditor that has never received a proposal. I had good credit, just a little extended. This creditor that has not received a proposal has been charging a late payment fee and over the credit fee every month. I believe my balance is now about $1,000 higher than it was when I joined the program over a year ago. As a result, my credit is now horrible.
Now, I find out that the company is out of business. I was told that the owner died. I don't believe it. I want everyone to pay close attention to their credit card statements this month. The ones that I have received show that my payment in October was returned for insufficient funds. I was also charged a fee for the returned check. Debt Relievers took the money electronically from my account like usual, but the checks they sent to my creditors were no good. So I basically gave Debt Relievers that money, but my creditors did not get paid.
Debt Relievers owes me over $1,000. My first payment of $440 plus my October payment of $440 plus about $200 in NSF fees. Could someone please contact me regarding this company? I plan to find a way to get my money back! I also want to make sure that this American Debt Counseling is not the same company.
