My grandfather had a mortgage with Fairbanks. They tried to foreclose on his house. I had to do a reverse mortgage to stop the foreclosure. In other words, no other mortgage company would work with us because of Fairbanks, therefore his only option was a reverse mortgage. This is just like a foreclosure because I had to pay these outrageous fees to refinance and pay a monthly fee as long as he has a reverse mortgage.
During the time the letter arrived at the house my grandfather was in a nursing home for rehabilitation. We never returned the claim form and he is eligible for over $2,000.
I feel like he should be included in the foreclosure because we had lost most of our equity as a result of the reverse mortgage.
Please help.
My grandfather passed in the month of May. Therefore I will continue to handle the case.
