Ripoff Threatened Foreclosure even after loan was paid in full!

I thought it was just me that had a problem with Fairbanks. My loan was sold to Fairbanks without ever my ever being notified. So when I got the notice that my house was being foreclosed on it was a shock. I did pay all of the "charges" Fairbanks asked for plus some just to get them to stop harassing me. But it didn't stop.

Fairbanks charged me late fees even when the payments were made on time. I learned to send all payments by FedEx so I could see who signed for them. I had to call and fax over and over to get the corrected info. On September Fairbanks called to say that due to Sept. 11th (no mail being delivered) they would waive the fee to pay by phone. I did so. Next month, the late charge still showed up and they took it out of my account on time!

In I decided I had had enough. I refinanced my loan. Imagine my shock when I found out that Fairbanks had reported my loan over 120 days late more than 4 times (not possible due to how long I even had the loan). No other company wanted to touch my loan. I was being held hostage by Fairbanks. They kept on assessing fees for nothing.

I finally refi'd. My new loan company paid off my loan with Fairbank in full. The money was wired transferred and I was free or so I thought. I got a certified letter from Fairbanks telling me that my house was being foreclosed on! They wanted another $9056.00! I called the company and explained that my loan was paid off over 3 weeks ago and that I was no longer a "customer" of theirs. The lovely woman at Fairbanks informed me that I was still their customer and furthermore I was just "another person who can't pay their bills".

I informed her that the money was wire transferred by my title co and I really wasn't involved anymore. Fairbanks said that they "sent back" the wire transfer. And I had 5 days to pay $9056.00! No one from Fairbanks could tell me what the $9056.00 was for this time. Fairbank NEVER contacted my title company.

After speaking with Stewart Title, I found out that Fairbanks never sent any money back to them. And that the amount paid by the title company was exactly what was requested by Fairbanks. Guess they just wanted another chunk of my hide!

I tried to get someone to listen to me regarding Fairbanks. No one would listen to me. Fairbanks cost me a lot of money and stress. It was the worst time of my life.
