Daniel Keller mortgage modification, debt settlement

Hardship Center contacted me two weeks after applying to Bank of America to refinance our mortgage, in August. BOA had denied us a refi because one of us fell short (by 2 points) of having the required credit score. The call from Hardship Center was an automated call and, when "1" was pressed, a female came on the line. She took my name and phone number and told me Mr. Daniel Keller would call me back within 24 hours. He called me back in less than 24 minutes.

Mr. Keller (or whatever his "real" name is) said all the right things. We are in an interest only mortgage for 7.5% and it is scheduled to reset on 12/1. The payment will increase by $300 dollars per month. He told us he could get us a loan modification, explaining that federal funding was available to assist with loan modifications. He emailed us documentation to support what he told us and we attempted to check Hardship Center out through those avenues known to us.
