Today I received a statement from a credit card I have not used in months. A charge (supposedly from March) is on there for $79.95 from CIC CREDIT MONITOR SERVICE for a credit report never ordered or authorized by myself.
I have never even received a copy of this so called credit report, I immediately called 800-220-2626 and spoke with a customer service person by the name of Gracie. She has assured me this charge will be credited to my credit card account. BUT I went on line to see what I could find and "found" there have been many reports about false charges to credit card accounts from this CIC company for credit reports never authorized or received. MINE is ONE more.
I fully intend to follow up with my credit card company with a confirmation in writing stating Gracie said this $79.95 will be credited to my account. CIC Credit Monitor Service will receive a copy of my letter.
Hopefully this will resolve the matter but somehow (in the light of the many complaints) I think I may be in for a long haul on this one.
