When a charge of $79.95 was applied to my credit card from the credit monitor service I was outraged. On 12-1-04 I signed up for a "free" credit report, and did not consent to any charges to be applied to my credit card. Furthermore, I never received anything via email or mail that inclued my credit report or an explanation that there would be charges applied to my credit card if I did not cancel their service within 30 days.
Therefore, if i did not receive this information, how was I to know that I needed to cancel their service. Finally, after I received my credit card statment I called the credit montior service and they informed me that there was nothing they could do, because I had not canceled within these 30-days that I was not informed of.
I have now filed a complaint with my credit card company and they are stopping the charge until I can send prove that I did not consent to this charge.
