Camco tried to Scam me twice for the same dept!
Let me start by telling I am 41 years old and live in Orange County California.
I understand this is a long posting but Please read the whole report it is Important!
About eighteen months ago I received I had my first run in with Camco they said that I had an unpaid dept from about thirteen years ago but the could not tell me exactly who the creditor was, after speaking with them for over a half hour I thought to my self maybe I did have something un paid. So I set up payment arrangements with them under one condition that they would give me a copy of the original delinquent loan paperwork so I had proof that this dept would be paid in full. I fulfilled my arrangements with Camco and paid them the seven hundred dollars we agreed on instead of the two thousand they said I owed.
Well now here is the kicker about three months ago I had a message on my phone when I got home asking for Paulette to please call this person back it was very important. Well my name is Paul and not Paulette. The guy left a name and number but never said they were from Camco. So I thought to myself why is there a telemarketer calling when I am on the do not call list. I call the number so I could jump down this persons throat for calling I told him that Paulette does not live here my name is Paul. This is when he stated they are not telemarketers but that he worked for a collection agency called Camco. So I waited for a moment so he could run both names on his system his comment was Oh yep I see both names are here you owe two thousand dollars. I told him now wait just a minute I don't owe you sh! T I paid this dept with you last year and you people never fulfilled our arrangements, you were going to send me a copy of the original documents and a letter from Camco showing this was paid in full and the only paper you gave me was a letter stating that I was paid in full but it never showed the creditor or account numbers on your letter.
So I told him I am not going to pay you squat I think you are a rip off operation and until you show me original documents you can kiss my A _ _! Then he asked me to hold on while he got a manager. The manager and I went back and forth for fifteen or twenty minutes. His last statement was then they would file with all three of the major credit agencies, I told him go for it I know my wrights and if this does show up I will dispute it and they will be forced to provide documentation of forfeit and then I would file a law suit against them.
Now it gets even better the next day my Mother Paulette called me asking for me to call is person and she gave me the name number and number of the person that left a message on my answering machine the day before. I explained to her my two different encounters with Camco. So when my father called when he got home from work he called this person back and red them the riot act! Over the course of the next few days he and I sat down I gathered up as much information as I had and we compiled a letter to the Illinois Attorney General to the Federal Trade Commission the Governors office and as many different agencies as we could think of including the Rockford Register Star witch is the local news paper for this part of Illinois. About three weeks after emailing our story to the news paper we were contacted by a Sarah Roberts an investigative reporter was assigned the story and is currently putting a in depth report with victims of Camco. I have been in contact with Sarah several times over the last few months and she is looking to put faces with the stories from each person that has been scammed by Camco. So we need as much help as we can get to shut them down.
Sarah e-mailed me yesterday with the good news that the FTC has fined Camco Three Hundred Thousand Dollars.
I think that Every Person that has been scammed by Capitol Acquisitions Company Camco should join forces and file a Law Suit against them! Let's hit them where it hurts right after they have to pay the FTC let's have them Pay All of Us Back! I am sure they would have to file bankruptcy because it could be millions of dollars
