I have a home loan through chase and I recently fell on hard times due to a medical condition and was unable to pay my mortgage... I called chase and arranged a repayment plan once I went back to work... I had Bank of America send them my monthly mortgage payment and chase sent it back only I didn't get the money back to my account... They told me they couldn't take the payment since my house is in foreclosure... News to me. So now they won't take any money to get me caught up but want to see if I qualify for a modification mean while my mortgage is still due so if I don't get the modification I'm still in foreclosure... One would think that I'm showing good faith by paying over what my mortgage is and trying to get caught up but instead of accepting it they are hindering me.
