The people this company hires are the rudest, most insensitive, and most condescending group of individuals I have ever encountered. I tried to submit a payment 5 days before it was due. When I went to submit it, the website would not open because the security certificate presented by their website was issued for a different website's address. No problem, I thought, so I tried Mozilla Firefox. I do not like Internet Explorer anyway and prefer Firefox. That browser was also coming up with the same issue. I emailed the company to let them know. I had this happen before with another company, and their system had actually been compromised. I sent an email, and 4 DAYS later I got a response saying that my payment was late (which it was not, since I had posted it the next day when the site was working, and Monday was a holiday), and also that I needed to update my browsers. They included two links. I had updated my browser that night. I constantly check for updates for all my programs.
Usually my payments go through in 2 days tops, and 3 if it was a Friday. It took 6 days this time because of the holiday. I am not one to complain usually. I realize that people have bad days and it is hard to leave things at home. However, this is not the first time I have had problems with them. When I had trouble finding work after graduation, I had to take a forbearance for 6 months until I was able to find employment. When I called to request forms, I was mocked by their service representative. She told me, "It must be nice to stay at home and not work." It really went through me that I was treated so badly, especially in this economy. I wrote it off as one person having a bad day, but after this latest encounter I have come to believe it is part of their work culture to mistreat customers.
I wish I knew how to take my loan to another lender. I would never go through this company again. Sadly, the institution I borrowed from sold it to them. I wish for them what I wished for Circuit City: that they go out of business and another, better company takes their place. In that case it only took two years for that wish to come true.
