Like many people out there, I got a payday loan from Loan Mart. The bank that backs them is the First Bank of Delaware. I fell behind in paying my loan and a lady named "Kelly" called my work at 9:05 Am Wednesday Jan. 21
Kelly was rude, she asked me to make up a check number because she needed a check right then! She asked me to post date it (NOT!) and she was extremely abusive. I hung up on her first call after she threatened to have my outstanding balance reported to the Credit Reporting Agencies.
She called again, so I calmy said "Do not call my work again. Thank you." and hung up on her. I was recording the call and as I was hanging up the phone, she was still screaming... She proceeded to call again! This time, I transfered her to my department manager and he told her to stop calling. She became verbally abusive with him, screaming, yelling and cussing (we could hear here across the room!).
I had every intention of paying these people. I have written to their corporate office, but I doubt I will hear anything. I paid them, and she's since stopped calling but I have filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, and I want to do whatever I can to ruin business for these criminals! If you live in Arizona, DO NOT go to LOAN MART!!! She broke at least two of the articles in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and I am going to complain until she pays!
