Complaint / Review
Money Tree Mortgage
Ripoff

I got this call around the September time frame about how I had been pre-approved for a new home mortgage. Eric was so helpful and a really nice guy. He reviewed my credit report with me and went over exactly what was wrong with it and what I needed to fix. But he couldn't go ahead on any of the paper work till I paid the 300$ filing fee. I told him that I wasn't prepared to go that far yet, and that I was only feeling out my options for buying a home. That if I was going to do it it wouldn't be till October-November anyways till I would do it. He was supportive and told me to give them a call back around that time.

2 weeks passed and I got a phone call from this Valerie. She informed me on how Eric no longer worked for the company and was really pushy on trying to get the 300$ fee. She also revieved my creidt report with me and told me what I needed to fix and asured me that the Mortgage had been preaproved and that I only needed to pay the filing fee to get the paperwork completed. Again I told her that I wasn't quite ready to purchase yet and that it would be around Febuary 2004 when I would be doing it. She sounded a little upset that I would not pay now but that she would be in contact with me again soon then to check up on my situation.

I had recently purchased a car before any of that calls to me were made. The gentleman at the dealership went over my credit report with me and gave me good advice on what to do to fix it. Nothing that Eric or Valerie said contridicted what I was told before so I was never left questioning thier intentions. I did (untill today after doing this research) have every intentions on using Money Tree to try and finance my first home.

I am sorry to those that lost thier 300$ and hope you get it back. But I also thank you for posting on web sites such as this to help others such as myself not make the same mistake. I can't say how much I hope they get in contact with me so that I can light em up.
