Rip off Christmas Time Credit Card Scam

Upon receiving a phone call on our cell phone, my husband was "talked" into what he thought was a great deal.

The telemarketer guaranteed a credit card with a $2,000.00 limit before Christmas. All they needed was $299 in order to set it up.

After 4 months of paying on time the credit limit would then double to $4,000.00.

We were told to expect the enrollment package in the mail within 3 weeks of them receiving their money. They stated that we needed to make sure the money was in there when they went to withdraw the $299 or you would start out with a negative credit rating.

On November 17th the money was withdrawn. December 8th came and no package. After several calls, we were told that due to bad weather and being "snowed" in things were delayed. However, everything had been processed and was sent to shipping. We asked how long before we received the credit card? We were told that once we received the package to call and tell them you wanted to fax your signature because that was the sole reason for the package of information.

Things began to sound "fishy" so we got online and Low and Behold guess what we found. Liberty Benefits Credit Card Scam!

We have printed off the report on how to get our money back and the letters from others that have been ripped off and will be pursuing reimbursement.

One other thing that might be related to this. Last week we received a call from the bank asking if we were in Arizona. Upon telling them NO they proceeded to explain to us that our debit card was being used in Arizona. The same card that we gave Liberty Benefits Services. HMMMM Leads one to believe. I can't imagine what that might have been able to do should we have actually faxed them our signature.
