The Citicards Extra Cash program is a way to get you to spend more money instead of giving you the cash reward or a gift card. If you have $100 in Extra Cash, Citicards will only allow you to redeem $10 to buy a $100 from him on his website (you have to pay whatever price is on the website).
In other words, if he gives you $100 of the so-called Extra Cash (it is actually fish bait; you never see any cash and you cannot do anything except buy big things from him), you have to spend $900 of real cash from your own pocket. The more "Extra Cash" Citicards gives you, the more money you have to spend.
After I got the Citicards and began to redeem my "Extra Cash," I found it worthless. It feels like being robbed in the daytime. Citizens, be aware: do not get a Citicards.
