Wells Fargo Home Mortgage
1 week before my sale date I was told that there are leins on the home and I am going into forclosure despite my attempts to avoid forclosure

A few years ago I lost my job and fell behind on my mortgage payments. I was set up on a repayment plan (Chap 13 bankruptcy) and was making timely payments to satisfy the debt. Then I recieved a notice from Wells Fargo that I owed $18,000 and if I did not pay the full amount my home would be put into forclosure. So I filed Chap 7 bankruptcy and was working with the bank to avoid forclosure. I was referrred to the loss mitigation department at Wells Fargo and was given options to avoid forclosure. I chose to do a short sale. This is when the mortgage company agrees to a payoff usualy less than the amount owed on the home. I did all that was requiered of me in this process and thought that I was on my way to selling my home. Months passed and I heard nothing form Wells Fargo and every time I contacted the office I was told that the account was under review and I would be notified, I never was. An auction date was set for my home and I was still given no information as to the status of my account. Finally, three weeks prior to the set sale date I was told that it was ok to look for a buyer. After securing a buyer (2 weeks before the sale date) and submitting this information to the bank I was told that there were several leins on my home and that I had no alternatives to forclosure. Upon contacting the County Asessor I was made aware that there was no record of any leins attached to my property or my name. When I relayed this information to Wells Fargo I was given the run around and no real answers as to where these leins came from and who the lein holders were, I was only told that I did not qualify for a short sale and that nothing could be done to help my situation. After being put on a "supervisor call back list" everyday for an entire week, I have yet to recieve so much as call or email in response to my inquiries. My home is due to be auctioned November 1, less than two weeks from today, and I have not been offered any assistance from Wells Fargo in this situation. I feel as though I was taken advantage of by being made to think that help was available to me when that was never the intention.
