Nuhavens Debt Management / Consumer Advocates sets up a contract with you for about half of what you owe for whatever terms you can afford. Nuhavens then tell your creditors you are dealing with them... A "law firm". Nuhavens take your payments religiously every month. Nuhavens settles nothing. When you call Nuhavens for progress, they tell you things like "this creditor is being stubborn, but we're still working on them..."
What is really happening is Nuhavens doesn't call your creditors at all. Nuhavens waits until the creditor writes your debt off as bad debt (you can see it on your OWN free credit reports). Nuhavens continues to take your monthly payments as though you have stuff to pay off, though.
I got lucky and stopped Nuhavens half way through a 4 year contract of this crap. I am trying desperately to get my money back. I paid in a total of 4800 of a 9600 dollar contract. I would be willing to shut up and go away if they would just give me 3300 (I agreed to a retainer of about 1500. They haven't earned it... But I would be willing to let it all go for the 3300).
Instead, Nuhavens keeps whittling down the amount (they are down to 2112 dollars by tacking on fees—for stuff they never did, mind you)... And then NOT sending the checks to me. I have in 3 separate emails, 3 separate dates upon which 3 different checks were mailed. I don't know who is stealing my checks out there, but I sure wish you would stop it. (sarcasm... Can you feel it?) Over the last few weeks I have collected over 12 phone numbers in 5 different area codes in 2 different states (all going to the same 3 desks). When you call them to let them know you still haven't received the check they sent, they holler at you, threaten you, and before you can say anything... You're listening to a dial tone. Obviously the behavior of people with good intentions and nothing at all to hide. (some more of that juicy sarcasm) I am not a violent man, but the way Nuhavens has treated me over the last month would have won them a free trip to the front page of most of the country's newspapers if they weren't located over 3500 miles away from me. (I'll just let your imaginations run away with what I feel capable of)
Nuhavens deserves to be put out of business! I am considering beginning a legal campaign. If you've been victimized by Nuhavens, contact us and we'll put you in too.
