I preformed remodeling, both tear out and rebuild, replaced doors, windows and completely framed out their basement. They did not pull a permit for the work, I told them they needed to pull a permit and they said they have been getting by remodeling houses for quite awhile and have never needed to pull a permit, they have never gotton caught. Will needless to say they got caught and had to pay fines, I drew up plans for them to give to the city. Had to redo work that they approved prior to the inspections because, it was not the right material which I told them at the time. They loved my work while I was working for them and even sent me out to fix other properties that needed repair. They kept saying they loved my work. They promised to pay the bills I submitted. They paid my first bill and then when they got caught by the city they promised that they would pay my other bills when I completed the job, that they need more of their money to pay fines and permits at this time. I told them I understood and believed they would follow thought on their word. When I was done with the work, they would not return my calls, I left a message asking them to please let me know if they needed anything else done at the house, no reply! I left a message saying if they were unhappy with something to please call me and I would fix it for them, again NO REPLY!!! When I was doing the job they asked me to pick up materials and they would pay for my gas, they also asked me to find others to work in the house to help speed up the work and they would pay their wages, because they to were carpenters, electricans, and heating/air conditioning workers, working on the side, to help support their families. The work has been done for 2mo's and no reply from them until the other day, when I met with both Karyn and Kristen, they started complaining about the work that I had done and that they had to have alot of it redone. Which I know is not true, because I walked though the house prior to our meeting and nothing was different than when I left. They complained about the sanding in the bathroom that I did, but when I told them that I did not do the sanding that Karyn had done it. They changed the subject. They refuse to pay several of the workers that came to help, and they refuse to pay for the gas I used to haul their material needed for the house. Now they only want to pay half my bill and want me to sign a lien waver. I have request several times to meet with them and they continue to change meeting times and places. Two workers did not get paid and others were paid only a small portion of their bills. I still have yet to get or receive the money which is only half of my bill. Please be aware of friends, who say they have friends who need help remodeling homes. I lost my job this year and my son was laid off and so were several of my friends who helped complete their house. They loved my work while I was doing it and now they refuse to pay.
