When I first opened my Insurance Agency Business account with Sterling Bank Pasadena, TX, I was assured that they welcomed my business. Then I was promptly charged $35 for a book of deposit slips I did not need - and was not told I would be charged for.
Then, in less than six months, they raised the service fee by 50%, again without any prior notification.
Then, on July 9, they cashed my $400 check at the bank and promptly charged me TWO returned check fees because their system was off line and they did not credit a large deposit. Out of the generosity of their hearts, they refunded one.
They also charged a $15 'balance lookup' fee, which, again, was not mentioned, just added to my account.
They normally have only one teller - but six bankers who are not really interested in helping the teller when she is swamped.
They are anything BUT for small business! I'm moving!
