False advertising in mailing. Having received a mailing claiming that I was pre-approved for a loan of up to $4,000, I called and provided personal information.
Hours later, I called back to find that I had
been declined due to length of job (7 months) and current
credit rating. The mailing fine print claims that, at the
time of the mailing (within a few days), my credit ratings were sufficient, and that barring any changes since that time, I would be approved. Further questioning of the representative revealed that there was no actual pre-approval, only a name submitted by a parent company.
I feel this is misleading and that this company now has my personal information and my credit score has been negatively affected needlessly. Also, there is a 17-35% DAILY interest rate in this loan! Watch out!
