Nationwide Appraiser won't contact you if involved in an accident

Allied insurance in Denver is the worst insurance company you could ever have. My girlfriend and I have had this insurance for the last three years and have paid on time, every time. On a snowy Colorado morning I was taking my girlfriend to work and came around a switchback to see a large S.U.V. Across the road, stuck in the snow, a woman sitting inside. When I applied the brakes, the wheels stopped but the jeep kept sliding down the hill, I turned the wheel to try and slide away from the truck across the road with no success. We were literally sliding at about 3-5 mph, so it wasn't scary. Our front fender bumped the rear quarter of the Toyota and put a small dent in it with a smudge of black. When the police arrived, they told us that this was equal fault due to the fact that the woman lost control of her truck and created a block in the road, and my fault for not being able to stop my jeep. Which I was ok with, although I couldn't help but wonder why the woman was sitting in her vehicle instead of getting up and going around the switchback to tell people that the road was a sheet of ice and her vehicle was across the road.

At this time, I was working over the road alot and was in non service areas for cell phones. I had requested multiple times to contact me through email, which was the easiest way to reach me. This had no success, the appraiser, basicly just ignored me for two months and all requests to contact me through email or on a saturday fell of deaf ears. After getting the run around for two months, i finally got fed up with chasing him around and when i was forced to leave another message told him to drop my claim on my jeep because this was becoming a joke. I once again heard nothing from allied at anytime. They seem to use loopholes to avoid sending an appraiser. We were basicly ignored after three years of paying, and the first time we were actually going to use the service we've been paying for, there wasn't one. Just one or two phone calls with messages to contact him when i get a chance, and the first time I called back, the message said he had left for a vacation. I then requested that a new appraiser contact me because I wasn't home that often and really wanted to get this squared away before I had to leave again, which also fell on deaf ears.

About a few months, i received a letter from allied saying they had put in a judgement against me for 8-900 dollars. Which isn't even legal, you can't put in a judgement against someone without ever talking to that person, but what they do is ignore you until you get so frustrated that you just drop it, then they judge against you and raise your rates. This has to be the shadiest thing ever done to us by a company. They're basicly crooks, but then again, after being in Denver for four years, you start to see how terribly run all the companies in Colorado are. It was almost at a hysterical level how disorganized it was, they couldn't get our bill right at first, couldn't get our address right, the coverage, the service, the appraisals... This company is the definition of Bush League, stand clear at all costs.
