Allied has never acted in good faith to settle our moving damage claim. Our household goods were delivered on August 30. We have been trying since October 13th to get Allied to settle our claim for the extensive amount of damage done to our furniture and to two Ducati motorcycles.
They have made multiple false promises. They deliberately delay returning e-mails, phone calls or snail mail for unreasonable periods of time.
Our moving claim totaled $27,819.79. Damage to both motorcycles, included in that amount, totaled $8272.13.
We took both damaged Ducati motorcycles to a Ducati dealer on September 13th for an estimate to repair the damage, and later an appraiser sent out by Allied on December 13th came within $200.00 of the amount claimed.
In an effort to avoid settling the claim Allied sent another appraiser, this time with only pictures, back to the Ducati dealer and got another estimate for the repairs totaling $3000.00 less than had originally been estimated. The problem was the repairs to the fiberglass, that included repair, paint and decals were left off of the estimate.
We contacted the dealer, and they stated that the appraiser never indicated that there was a repair order already in their system and that in fact, those repairs had been left off. I could go on but needless to say, the tactics this mover is using to try to avoid paying for the damage that was done is unconscionable.
My furniture made out even worse. Allied sent an appraiser that spent 5 hours in my home assessing the damage.
In addition to my furniture being cracked, dented, torqued, scratched, and gouged with chunks of wood sticking out, some of the joints are now so loose that the furniture can easily be wiggled from side to side.
The continued stress that Allied claims personnel has chosen to inflict only makes the whole unfortunate situation worse.
We have spent an enormous amount of time and effort trying to get Allied to accept responsibility for so much damage and settle our claim in a fair and just manner. Allied has chosen to act unethically and unprofessionally.
Motorcyclist Beware! Allied also advertises in the American Motorcyclist Magazine. The ad states...'We Move Motorcycles'. Use Allied at your own risk.
