If you want to be jerked over and pay double the finance charge, go ahead with this credit card service. I had a Providian card for 2 years, always paid on time. Went on vacation and came home the day before payment was due. Went to the website that evening (before) and posted a large payment (way more than the minimum).
Two days later, some guy who can't even pronounce my name (Holly Mayfield... How much more genaric can that get???) called me at work to tell me that my account was "seriously overdue" and that a late fee had been charged. Went to the website right away, they doubled my finance charge and assessed a late fee. I then paid 98% of my balance online (not 100% because I did not know the total amount due).
They called me again, via an automatic dialing system, more than 5 days after my Big payment had been posted and again demanded a large payment (4x my account balance). When I contested this, the party on the other end of the phone hung up. This company preys on parties with low credit scores, with the purpose of luring them in on the premise of a legitimate credit provider. And that is not the truth. This card provider will take you for every penny you didn't even know you were good for, and then threaten for more.
