I have a checking, savings, and overdraft line of credit accounts. At the time I signed up for the line of credit, there was a $25/year fee, with no per-transaction fees. Now, I find out that NEW applicants for a line of credit (new or existing customers) pay no yearly fee, and no per-transaction fee. The woman at the call center said I could cancel my current overdraft line of credit, and apply for a new one... But the $25 I was already charged would not be refunded.
Kudos to TD Bank for lowering the fee burden on it's services; shame, shame, shame for burdening your existing customers with fees that could easily be removed. Customers shouldn't have to dig for savings that are available to everyone else. This really takes a very positive thing, and makes it very negative for longtime customers.
I'd recommend customers make quarterly reviews your entire portfolio with the bank, and ensure there's nothing you're paying for that might be free for everyone else.
